​We serve the city of Morton's Gap, which lies in Hopkins county in Western Kentucky. There are a little over 1,000 residents in roughly two square miles.

Our department was founded in 1956, and we now have 4 fire apparatuses and 20 active volunteer members. 
 Morton's Gap FD is one of the 15 fire departments in Hopkins County, of which Madisonville Fire Department is the only paid department. 

We currently operate out of a single station with a fleet of two pumpers, one brush truck, and also maintians the only aerial apparatus in possession of the volunteer departments in Hopkins County. 
Our call volume consist of fires within the city of Mortons Gap, motor vehicle accidents/ auto extrications, and assists in mutual aid to all the fire departments in Hopkins and Medical Center Ambulance Service. 

We averaged 20-30 calls per year with an average of 1-3 structure fires in district annually.
